Boutique hotels are always charming and seem to have the best hospitality. I recently had a staycation with Neil at Hotel Teatro in downtown Denver. When pulling up to the valet, you will fall in love with the cruiser bicycles lined up outside, waiting for you to take them for a ride. The exterior architecture is beautiful with the glazed red brick and white terra cotta. You must stop and take a photo at the entrance!
Upon entering Hotel Teatro, you will find The Nickel to the left and The Study to the right. The Nickel is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Chef Russell Stippich is the mastermind behind the flavorful dishes. Each has a story behind it, which makes dining an experience rather than transactional. I have been for dinner many times and always enjoyed whatever the seasonal menu has to offer. One of the best parts of the seasonal menu is that Chef Russell sources ingredients locally and in small batches to ensure quality. I also enjoy Happy Hour at The Barrel Bar and Brunch on the weekends. They offer a bottomless Bloody Mary and White Russian bar. The Nickel also serves house barrel-aged cocktails.
The Study is used for breakfast each morning offering a full menu and many fresh-baked pastries. They serve Pablos Coffee and can make any espresso drink you'd like. After breakfast, The Study turns into a flex space for business meetings, studying, reading or private parties. It's gorgeous and one of the favorite spaces in the hotel. It is uncommon for locals to hang at a hotel but in Denver, many flock to Hotel Teatro for The Study.
The team knew how valued The Study was to locals and they wanted to incorporate that same welcoming feel to their guests. In November 2017, the hotel rooms went through a renovation that commenced in January 2018. There is no detail left out on the design of the rooms. I love the "Do Not Disturb" tassel down to the accent pillow on the bed. Take a look below at some of the beautiful details:
If you are planning a staycation, girls weekend, couples trip, or a group event, you must book Hotel Teatro. It is intimate, cozy, and chic. They offer many amenities and are walking distance to anywhere within the city. If you are going a little bit further, they offer a complimentary black car to drive you to your next destination.
